Press Releases
Yacolt, WA, July 8, 2008 - Lynn Oldham became
the Clerk/Treasurer of the Town of Yacolt,
population 1370, April 2, 2008. She formerly was the Executive Director of the
Chamber of Commerce in the neighboring community of Battle Ground, population
16,240!
Yacolt is the home of the BYCX Railroad; Battle
Ground, Yacolt, & Chelatchie Prairie Railroad. It offers visitors a ride
into Yacolt’s old logging past. The BYCX ride will take you through some of the
beautiful country in South West Washington and North Clark
County. In September
1902, Yacolt, which consisted of only 15 buildings, was nearly destroyed by the
Yacolt Burn - the largest fire in state history. Yacolt was officially
incorporated on July 31, 1908.
Lynn inherited a DOS-based
financial accounting system from 1986. To accommodate Yacolt's growth and meet
the increasingly stringent reporting requirements of the WA State Auditor's
Office, the town signed a contract with BIAS Accounting, July 8, 2008. The
decision was influenced by high praise from existing BIAS Clients, the
comprehensiveness of the BIAS System, and reporting capabilities. Yacolt
purchased BIAS Modules: BARSFund, BIASBilling, and Payroll.
